This is a very simple game that allows the kids to select the songs to sing during singing time. It can also be adapted for a very wide range of uses.
Before church I printed out the names to the songs that I wanted to sing in a very large font, with one song name per page. Since I plan on reusing these game pieces I also glued them to some construction paper. To play the game I laid the pieces on the floor, and used masking tape to mark two lines on the ground about four and eight feet away from the pieces. I selected a child to come up and toss a beanbag at the pieces. Whichever song the beanbag landed on (or near), we sang. Older kids had to stand behind the far line, and younger kids got to stand behind the closer line.
I included a few pieces that said things like "your choice" and "lose a turn." You can also have the pieces face up or down depending on the skill level and demeanor of the kids. Our primary has a lot of younger kids, so I left the pieces face up. Older kids with better aim might enjoy the game more with the pieces face down.
